Did ya knowā€¦

I want to make sure this newsletter is a glimmer of geeky joy in your inbox. At the bottom of every email, youā€™ll find a simple one-click poll!

āž”ļø Once youā€™re done reading, please let me know what you think!

Frenchie Ferenczi is a business coach strategist for founders and creatives. Sheā€™s helped thousands of business owners ā€œdo the right work at the right timeā€ in a world that makes it so easy to get distracted by everything else.

Iā€™ve been following Frenchie since earlier this year. Iā€™ve been so inspired by her simple offer structure, punchy copywriting, and stunning branding that makes you want to ditch your own.

I meanā€¦ šŸ˜ šŸ˜ šŸ˜

The fonts. The colors. The logo. DREAM BRAND.

Frenchie is a super connector and community builder (ahem, she was Director of Community at The Wing so thereā€™s that). Youā€™re probably one degree away from herā€”if youā€™re not already connected. šŸ˜‰

Aside from being a certified badass as a solopreneur, Frenchie posted this on Instagram and itā€™s what really made me hit send on my ā€œCan I feature you?ā€ email:

I absolutely love a good tech stack scrub. šŸ§½

ā€œSimplify your front-end and back-end.ā€

No more collecting tools that youā€™ll never use or creating overly complicated workflows that are too confusing to tweak.

(Want to know which 5 tools she cut? āœ‚ļø Keep reading!)

Frenchie wants you to focus on sales-generating work. So much so that her trademark-pending tag line is Stay Close to the Moneyā„¢.

In other words, rather than spend months mulling over which email marketing tool to use, decide quickly (with my help!) and spend your precious time writing high-converting emails and building out your offers.

The tool won't get you the sales on its own. You need strategy and execution ā€” and that's Frenchie's sweet spot.

Inside this Newsletter

Behind the Business

Let's dive into Frenchie's business using the three main parts of the online business marketing funnel: awareness, engagement, and sales.

šŸ“£ Awareness

Hereā€™s how Frenchie attracts potential clients:

  • Organic social posts on LinkedIn and Instagram

  • Weekly Accountability lead magnet - This is one of Frenchieā€™s freebies used to grow her list with potential clients. Sheā€™ll send you an accountability check-in email every Sunday night.

  • Guest speaking at podcasts and conferences including big time ones like Mom 2.0. She even created a public Spotify playlist to curate her guest podcast interviews in one place. This makes it so easy for someone to get a sense of her style before booking her on their show. (Stealing this now.)

And Frenchie knows the value of a legit email signature. She does what most people donā€™t by including:

šŸ’Œ A link to her newsletter opt-in
šŸ”— Social media profile links
šŸ“¢ Her speaking page

She makes it so easy for people to engage with her and her content ā€“ everything is just one click away.

now *this* is what you call an email signature

šŸ’¬ Engagement

Once youā€™re in Frenchieā€™s world, sheā€™s popping up in your inbox and in your ears:

  • Strategy Snacks Podcast - Bite-sized 10-minute episodes packed with actionable insights from Frenchie and her guests

  • Ongoing emails - Frenchie isnā€™t shy about emailing her community. She lands in their inbox weekly, sharing stories, tips and resources.

  • Workshops - Occasionally, Frenchie hosts virtual sessions to teach and connect with her community

šŸ’° Sales

Frenchie has two very simple and clear offers:

  • 1:1 Consulting: Frenchie helps business owners cut through the clutter and create a personalized game plan

  • Revenue School: A 2-day intensive online group program for business owners targeting $250k in annual sales (Want to join the next cohort? Join her email list to get notified!)

Frenchieā€™s Tech Stack

Below are the tools I discovered in my research! FYIā€”this isn't a complete list of everything the business uses. Some links are affiliate links for tools I have experience with and can genuinely recommend. šŸ’•

Squarespace

The website builder for Frenchieā€™s site.

Sunsama šŸ†•

Digital daily planner that lets you see all of your tasks in one place. It integrates with Google Calendar, Gmail, Notion, and so many more apps. (Since Frenchie told me about it, Iā€™m obsessed.)

Q&A with Frenchie

Q: Which app saves you the most time?

A: I'm obsessed with Sunsama, it is the ultimate task manager that helps me bring together all the different areas of my business and give me a snapshot of my tasks. (Sheā€™s not wrong! This is the organizational tool Iā€™ve always wanted but never knew existed!)

Q: Which automation or workflow you've built has most transformed your business?

A: My welcome sequence, it drives engagement and I love the way it warms people up when they join my e-mail list. (More on this in our Featured Workflow)

Q: When it comes to tech, what advice would you give a newbie online solopreneur?

A: Keep it simple, and remember your tech stack is a tool but the real work is in getting out there and selling.

Q: How much do you spend on your tech software and tools?

A: About $350/month

Q: Spill the tea and give us what we want. šŸ¤£ Which 5 tools did you cancel?

A: Sure! Happy to spillā€¦

  • Copper (CRM) ā†’ switched to Notion

  • Surfe (LinkedIn prospecting) ā†’ went manual

  • Apollo (leads tool) ā†’ didn't use

  • Fireflies.ai (AI notetaker) ā†’ didn't like

  • HeySummit (event platform) ā†’ not hosting events anymore

Hidden Tech Gems

Ready for some tools you probably havenā€™t heard of that you should definitely check out? No gatekeeping hereā€”dig in!

I recently ditched my Adobe Acrobat Pro subscription ($20/month) when I did my own tech stack audit. I knew there had to be another option that was good enough and more importantly, a one-time purchase rather than a subscription.

And I found it!

These two hidden gems replace Adobe Acrobat and save me $240 per year.

šŸ’Ž PDFgear

I use PDFgear to fill and/or edit PDFs, often the ones that come from others and donā€™t have smart input fields setupā€”preschool forms, anyone? | PDFgear, free

šŸ’Ž BreezeDoc

Another gem from the AppSumo family, BreezeDoc is what I use to send PDFs for signature. The free plan gets you 2 signatures per month but you can really ā€œsplurgeā€ and get 5 signatures/month for $9 (in total, for life ā€” not monthly). There are more plans if youā€™re a contract machine. | BreezeDoc, free+

This tech swap saves me $240/yearā€”every year!

Featured Workflow:
New Form Subscriber ā†’ Email Notification

Iā€™m currently helping a client move her email marketing from Kajabi to Kit. Itā€™ll save her $600+ per year to make the switch. šŸŽ‰

Itā€™s a pretty straightforward project except for ONE thingā€¦

When someone signs up using a form built in Kajabi, you can send a notification email to yourselfā€”or anyone else who should knowā€”from Kajabi for that specific form.

But you canā€™t do this inside Kit for a specific form, only all of your forms. This isnā€™t ideal if youā€™re only looking for notifications from a single form (example: a time-sensitive sales inquiry).

My solution? This simple and free Zapier automation:

Hereā€™s how it works:

  1. Setup the trigger: Select ā€œConvertKitā€ as the app (as of this post date, Zapier still references Kitā€™s old brand name) and ā€œNew Form Subscriberā€ as the event. Follow the prompts to choose the specific form.

  2. Send yourself an email: Choose ā€œEmail by Zapierā€ as the app and ā€œSend Outbound Emailā€ as the action. Continue the following steps and youā€™re good to go!

What I love about this workflow:

āļø All email marketing tools welcome! This works with any email marketing software as long as theyā€™re one of the 7,000 apps on Zapier. (Where you at, Substack? šŸ˜¼)

ļøāļø It gives you tool freedom! Thereā€™s no need to stick with a tool you donā€™t love because of one feature that can be replaced with an automation.
